In today’s Remembrance celebration, we take the time to think of My Mom (Margret Bissell) and Dad (Gregory Rice) were in their early 20s when they met during WWII. Both army soldiers. Signing up during wartime, can you imagine how scary the future could be for them? Mom was a war bride who landed by boat in Halifax with my brother John and my brother Danny on the way and made the train trip across the country to Vancouver to meet Dad. She left behind her family in Scotland and all that she knew to start her new life in Canada. Do you think they ever dreamed that they would have 10 children?
